County Meeting On Data Centers And The Considering Of Amending Codes For Them

Post by lisabaldwin » Fri Aug 21, 2026 8:12 pm

There was a recent post on amending codes for data centers in Okanogan County, but it seems to have disappeared. Was it taken down? I wanted to add the information to what Tania wrote in regards to where to meet with the Commissioners and where to proceed with comments. And Tania wrote a fabulous articulate and eloquent post on the information. Because I do not see the recent post on this, I will start over with the question:

Have you heard that Okanogan County is considering amending our codes for data centers? Written comments will be accepted until 8/22/26 @ 5 pm. I am sorry I could not get this out earlier. It isn't clear to me if that's the same time emailed comments will  be accepted as well. Written comments may be addressed to: Okanogan County Planning Commission
                                                      123 5th Ave., Suite 130
                                                    Okanogan, WA  98840
I recommend, due to prior experience, that letters be sent so they must be signed for when they get there and that you keep a copy of the letter with the receipts.
If you choose to email, it's spalmer@okanogancounty.gov. Don't be shocked if you don't get a reply.

There will be a public hearing on 8/24/26 @ 7 pm in the Okanogan County Planning Commission room, 123 5th Ave., Suite 130, Okanogan. Bring comments and concerns. Could end up in the Agriplex again. It is important to show up at this meeting because an in-person statement has made an impact in the past.
