I've never seen such a display of sunflowers in all the years I have been here. Check out the Meadowlark trail near Sun Mtn. The meadows are just glowing.

Balsamroots are favored esp during early rapid spring melt offs with their 8 ft taproots. Also, droughts and wildfires are favorable. This might explain why it also appears that the balsamroots have very little plant life competition now that the rampant water leaf bloom has tapered
