Methow Conservancy First Tuesday: the Once and Future Moon

Post by MethowConservancy » Thu Jul 30, 2026 11:00 am

Tuesday, August 4
7pm at the Twisp Valley Grange (doors open at 6:30pm)

Astronomer and astrophysicist Shane Larson is back in the Methow Valley to teach us about the Moon. In this talk Shane will discuss some of the observational history of the Moon, some of the current thinking about the Moon and its importance to Earth, the history of spacecraft and human exploration of the Moon, and what humans' aspirations for the future of lunar exploration are.

Free and open to the public. We hope to see you there!

PS: We had to do a venue change after the Methow Valley News had already gone to print. The Winthrop Barn is being used as command for the Ptarmigan Fire. The new venue is the Twisp Valley Grange.

Just a reminder that our First Tuesday tonight will be at the cool and clean air space of the Twisp Valley Grange. Doors at 6:30pm, presentation at 7pm. Free!

We had to switch venues after the newspaper went to print (since fire command set up in the Barn) so we are just re-confirming with the community that the venue is the Twisp Valley Grange.
