Hanks Parking Lot Car Accident

Post by micahalyn » Sat Dec 06, 2025 3:00 pm

Howdy town,

This morning while leaving Hanks I was waiting on a car to back out, and then another car was backing out and backed right into me, even though I was blasting my horn and yelling at them to stop.

I was thankful that they just hit my car and not a child or another person.

Moral of the story, please PLEASE look before you back out. And if someone is honking, it might be at you. Especially now since the roads are slick, be mindful of your surroundings and of others.

It takes one extra moment to look before you drive, it also takes one moment to hurt someone else. The choice is yours.

Kindly,
A concerned community member.

One always has to be aware in that parking lot, I have found. Unbelievable for a small town parking lot. (Well, any parking lot is treacherous)
Another scary area is the PO.
While coming home yesterday, when it was snowing madly, I met vehicles going entirely too fast for conditions. And on a curve I could see from a distance they were over the center line. I stopped before the curve to allow them to....get over!
Studies have shown that people drive faster in fog and when it is snowing hard. One of the reasons is reduced contrast making objects seem farther away.

I'm so sorry!
That's happened to me, too, a while ago. I was in a center aisle parking spot and a truck dinged my car backing out from in front of Ulrich's then he said he was late for an appointment and left! I think I was kind of in shock. So lame.

This morning someone parked super close to me in a truck and opened their car door into my vehicle and that's happened before at Hank's, too.

I completely avoided parking in the community center parking lot this am.
