Warning: Aggressive german shepherd - Mazama/Lower Fawn

Post by milo » Sun Apr 13, 2025 10:47 am

Be warned!

Yesterday I had a scary encounter with an off-leash aggressive german shepherd on Lower Fawn Creek Hill. The dog came within five feet of me and my leashed dog, while the owner did nothing, barely called her dog and then strolled by as if this was completely acceptable and normal -- despite the fact I was yelling at her dog and yelling at her. I would have thrown rocks at her dog if I could have but my hands were full managing my mutt. WTF.

People: leash your damn dogs. And if you are one of those dog owners who says 'Oh, my dog is friendly!' as it comes romping up... well guess what?!? My dog isn't friendly and doesn't want to meet your dog in this way.

Agreed!! I can barely take my dogs out for fear of off-lead dogs. I’ll never understand the mentality of people who let their dogs run wild. Balky Hill is an absolute mess in this regard. I’m a dog lover, but I could write paragraphs about all the disastrous off-lead dog encounters I’ve had. Balky Hill is not a dog park!! Keep your dogs under control— I do not want them on my property, or in my personal space. My dogs will tell you that the hard way.
