internet options?

Post by boogeo » Sun Dec 29, 2024 9:33 am

I'm probably not the first to ask... but what are my potential internet options? We currently use CenturyLink DSL, and want a change. The MethowNet folks came out and said their network wouldn't work here. I know about StarLink. Any other options? We're near Balky Hill outside Twisp. Thanks!

StarLink is both the most practical, and the highest quality option anywhere in the Valley.

There is also MethowNet (poor latency during peak hours), T-Mobile (very unreliable) and Highest satellite (useless for most modern applications because the latency is around 1 second).

Methow.com - NCI DataCom - provides excellent service!

Dont know if you can access it from that area, though….

NCI Datacom is available in some areas and less expensive that Methownet. I've heard of some people using Hughes Net.

Some areas are in the plan for fiber optic and you might check with the PUD/OCEC to see if they are going to install it near you.

Have you tried the Computer Nut Hut in Omak? They are at 201 S. Main in Omak. Their prices are 30-60 dollars. Their phone number is 509-826-2600...

Starlink is by far the best. I average 120 mbps.

If NCI Datacom can provide service to your area, they are an excellent choice,

I have been happy with NCI Datacom, but know it would depend on your location.

I've had good success with T mobile, but I believe you need to have line of sight to a cell tower for it to work well.
