Lynx Vilden/The Primitives

Post by Pudman » Wed Mar 18, 2026 3:36 pm

From the Bored In Lost River Dept: Does anyone know the fate of Lynx Vilden and her rugged group of Primitives? Been several years since I've seen her/any of them and curious as to if they finally formed a rock band, left the Valley or were eaten. Or perhaps she does corporate training seminars for Seattle tech companies.

She appears once in a while on the FB page of Anton van den Heuvel , another primitive culture advocate and teacher in western Europe. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100009279917244 It is possible that if you just type her name into Google Search you will find mentions of her.

Gracias. But nothing I find indicates she is still active in the Valley.

When here, she did a documentary film/video of what she is about. It was great. I may have saved it in my vast computer files.
I was just thinking about her the other day.

Lynx is still very much active in her life’s work of sharing Stone Age lifeways. Now based in Scandinavia and Europe. Many of her former students are woven into the Valley in various ways. Feral, yet adapted to modernity in order to gather the golden coin. Her presence remains, cloaked in deer skins and coyote furs, clutching a wooden bow, smoke from the fire curling in tendrils to the starry blackness above

Thanks Joshua, that pretty well describes Lost River, a savage and unforgiving wilderness that takes the full measure of a man. Or woman. Best wishes for her in Skandihoovia!

Yeah, try hiking through Lost River Gorge. Wildest place in the Valley.

Lynx has been coming to the valley during the summer. She likes to swim in the Methow.

Lynx was in and out of Stehekin last summer. She’s been living in Norway as well.
