Fire of Choice: Tomorrow -- Monday @ 6PM in the Winthrop Library Community Room

Post by cedarsnag » Sun Jan 26, 2025 9:03 am

The evening will feature Northwest photographer and conservationist John Marshall, who will present his photography in Fire of Choice: The Essential Role of Prescribed Fire in Land Stewardship.

Best known for his work replicating historic photography and monitoring the long-term effects of wildfire, Marshall offers a unique perspective on coexisting with landscapes where fire is not merely a possibility, but a certainty. Marshall brings to us unique perspectives on how we can live alongside landscapes where fire is not just a possibility, but rather a certainty.

John Marshall earned a M.S. in Wildlife Resources from the University of Idaho in 1984.

Event hosted by North Cascades Prescribed Burn Association. A Prescribed Burn Association is a group of landowners, fire practitioners, and interested citizens that come together in collaboration to put “good fire” back on the land through the use of prescribed burn practices. Associations bring shared knowledge, equipment, and workforce to help conduct burns, reduce risk and remove barriers to burn on private lands.
