"Short window for comments" is because they really don't want a lot of comments to deal with.

One question I would have if I could get there is how they intend to prevent "flipping". That is, a low income or unhoused person gets in at the start but I offered a big profit to sell a year later to a person who would not have originally qualified. Will there be anyone with the capacity and legal authority to monitor and prevent this from happening?

I just sent this question to the Twisp Town Planner as a comment.

From what I've read, I think this is a different situation. This development is going to be financed and operated by Catholic Charities of Eastern Washington. The original plan with the 48 units was labeled "low income housing" (subsidized rentals) as opposed to "affordable housing" (the tiny homes) which are purchased. I hope Wednesday's meeting can clear up some of these questions.....

Hopefully a good turn out for the meeting Wednesday and questions will be answered.
It would be nice to get some assurance that if this planned development is approved, CCEW intends it to be for people who reside in our community and not coming from other towns.

The Town of Twisp should require open spaces and pedestrian/bike trails that connect this development to other similar town enhancements. Let's not end up with an isolated, segregated neighborhood only accessible by motorized vehicles and cut off from other public spaces.

Im worried about the density impact. Its a block of three story buildings. Not a great visual. It should be in proportion to the surrounding area and the town. Keep it low and spread it around a bit. Lots of green and trees.

~~ the incubation of Twisp as a model "smart city" (it's all within walking distance) - the erection of public housing reminiscent of the Soviet block, as well as new growth opportunities for groups like tren de aragua ! Hopefully with this new horizon the county will have some ambition to clean up squatters on Airport Road !!

At Wednesday's meeting CCEW did acknowledge that concerns have been raised regarding who will take up residency. They did not assure that it would be for only Methow Valley residents.
With housing that is planned in Heckendorn/Larkspur and whatever is planned off Wolf Creek Road, is there a coordinated grand plan for affordable housing in the Valley that the agencies could brief our towns on?

I know that a number of people found housing in Omak and Okanogan, but commute to work over here. It would be nice to have them back. Would people really move here in droves?
The jobs used to be plentiful, mainly service jobs. There are not as many ads posted but perhaps the businesses stopped posting. The service jobs are seasonal for some people, so affordability is a real issue.
They can't live here a certain number of years because there has been no place for them to live in the first place.
The hearing has been continued in 2 weeks. Still time to voice your concerns.

It seems to me that homelessness is a symptom of a larger problem or set of problems, that I don't pretend to have a solution for. However, it seems to me that this project will attract more homeless to the valley where there is already not an adequate social services network to support current needs. You are just moving the problem here by attracting more homeless people. Large cities have more infrastructure and funding to deal with these complex problems. For example, where is the healthcare infrastructure for these new folks? I have to wait weeks for an appointment and generally have to drive to Omak. Where are the jobs? What is the impact on our schools? There certainly would be some impact on law enforcement. We are retired and on a fixed income, our property taxes went up 38% in two years, how are all of these effects going to be paid for? Bruce Herron Wolf Creek
