Twisp-Carlton Road is treacherous

Post by RandySea » Sat Dec 21, 2024 2:03 pm

Slush and ruts over ice, 2-4 miles south of Twisp. With all wheel drive and practically new snow/ice tire, I was sliding all over the place. I don't remember it ever being this bad.

Yes, Twisp River Rd. too. I could go as fast as 20 mph at times and right, if you don't have a weighty vehicle it was difficult going. One answer is chains, which can be put on all wheel drive on the front on some makes. I noticed the larger vehicles could go a little speedier. I also noted it was where they sanded, that had melted and was mushy snow.
Just consider it your Sat. amusement ride.
The county has been informed but we know they don't plow on the week-ends unless absolutely necessary. I hope this will be beaten off soon.

On Sunday midday, the road is still bad. Like on Wolf Creek Rd (see another posting), doesn't look like any improvement before tomorrow.
