• Pete Palmer, Planning Director, tells the commissioners that her office is preparing for an eventual hearing with Lloyd Logging in December. They’re using the county’s lawyers instead of those from VanNess Feldman in Seattle. She also mentions that her staff has heard that someone is interested in building a datacenter in Brewster.
• Dave Asia, Chair of the Methow Watershed Council, asks the commissioners to be the fiscal agent for a grant he’s applying for—a grant to have a fire hydrant installed six miles up the Twisp River Road. The commissioners agree.
• Dale White, Veterans’ Advisory Board, says that the county is giving funds to several organizations, such as the Community Action Council, that help veterans, but that there is no reporting about that help. He also thinks that these organizations should refer every veteran they work with to the county’s Veterans’ Services Office where they can get help filing a claim with the federal Department of Veteran’s Affairs. The commissioners agree to look into the matter.
• Larissa Goodall, Fairgrounds Assistant gives a report about Fair expenses. Commissioner Hover estimates that the Fair made $21,398.
• Meeting adjourned for the day at 12:08.
