• Nick Tommer, member of the public, makes a comment concerning the owner of a property adjacent to his. The neighbor has promised to clean up the junk and scrap on his property and Tommer has agreed to help, but so far, the neighbor hasn’t begun the cleanup. The commissioners and Pete Palmer, Director of Planning, tell him that the county is trying to amend its zone code to make it possible to fine a property owner who refuses to clean up the property. Tommer thanks the commissioners for hearing him out.
• The commissioners meet with the Planning Commission to discuss the pros and cons of datacenters in the county. The Planning Commission recently held a meeting to discuss whether they should recommend to the County Commissioners that the zone code’s District Use Chart (starting on page 123 of the zone code) should be amended to add datacenters as an allowed use in Industrial areas. (Datacenters are currently not mentioned in the District Use Chart.) During the Planning Commission’s meeting, the public comments were overwhelmingly against datacenters.
• Meeting adjourned at 11:13.
