This is a last outreach to find our good working dog a home in the area. There's a rescue ten hours away in Idaho that will place him, but I'd love to avoid the stress of travel and the multiple transitions that will mean for him.

6 year old neutered Karakashan male. Has been a working dog with sheep the 5 years that we owned him. He is stable, gentle, and a good protector for them. He has also been around horses and chickens, but hasn't guarded chickens so he'd need a reintroduction. His current setup has him in the livestock area with access to shelter, so he hasn't been meeting new dogs without a fence in between or an intentional introduction. I think he could get along with any friendly dog.

I would love to see him go to a working environment where he can be an outdoor dog with access to shelter and daily affection from his people. He is very sweet, and loves the times he gets a visit and some tummy rubs. He needs fences. He has never been taught to be a pet or learned to navigate indoor living or being in a yard where new dogs and people stop in. He has been a working dog, and is great at what he does!

He could be a good fit for a homestead, a working farm, or any place with space, fences, and an owner with willingness and skill to teach him the new program. An owner with LGD experience is a plus- I am going to be careful that he goes into a situation where I think he will thrive.

Please reach out with any questions or for pics and videos.
