Weekly summary for last week:
Monday, Sept. 14, 2026 AM
• During the public comment period, Ann, via the chat box, asks about the average amount of time each commissioner spends on the job every week. She would like them to do a “time study” by keeping track of their hours for a while. The commissioners agree.
• Nick Bates, Fairgrounds Manager, briefs the commissions after this year’s fair is over. There was some damage done by vandals to the bathrooms and portable toilets after the fair had closed on Sunday night. There was also a broken water pipe in the RV Park. The Fur and Feather auction was a success—a preliminary account shows it took in over $800,000. Commissioner Neal said he’d heard complaints about weeds. Also, he didn’t think the bathrooms had been cleaned just before the fair opened.
• The Okanogan County Conservation District and Search and Rescue each makes a pitch for the county’s 2027 $140,267 in Title III money.
• The commissioners hear a presentation from the Rebuilt Treatment Center in Spokane. They receive patients who are detoxed and stabilized and put them into treatment involving much therapy along with life skills training. They say that 60% of their clients are clean and holding a job after a year.
• Meeting adjourned at 12:16.
