• An unnamed man makes a public comment about goat head weeds in an arena in the fairgrounds. The commissioners say they’ll pull the weeds before the fair begins on September 10, and spray the area after the fair. The commissioners also discuss other landscaping and well issues at the fairgrounds.
• Kent Kovalenko, Solid Waste Manager, and the commissioners discuss establishing a county composting site. State law will require the county to have one by 2030. Kovalenko’s rough estimate is that the whole system could cost about $700,000. Commissioner Hover says they county will get a grant for at least $300,000. Kovalenko will continue to research the issue.
• Josh Thomas, County Engineer, updates the commissioners on road conditions and maintenance.
• Meeting adjourned at 11:48. Since the commissioners got all the items on Tuesday’s agenda, they won’t meet again until Tuesday, September 8, the day after Labor Day.
