Two fish and game vehicles and officers are looking for the individual(s) that shot a buck west of Wolf Creek road. They have a picture of the vehicle, old Toyota forerunner, white with a carryall rack attached to the trailer hitch. FYI, Bruce Herron Wolf Creek

The Hunter Ed program teaches that poachers are thieves, stealing from our community.

I have seen a white truck with a powerful spot light a few days ago driving up and down on Bryan Rd. So they been scouting around prior this incident. Just eyes up!

A newer full size double cab GMC - conveniently covering their license plates - was crowding the single lane forest service road down into Slate Creek mining area (that's going downhill from the Slate Peak/Hart's pass top out where the volunteer-manned ranger station is - towards Barron)... two hunters seated in camp chairs with a rifle + smart scope mounted on a TRIPOD pointed uphill - yep that would be towards the PCT & illegal to shoot across a roadbed - late Saturday evening [ 5Sept ] nearing dusk. The ranger had seen them scouting out all the road accesses earlier in the day and they were camped in the dispersed area just before the topping out at Hart's Pass. The third hunter was down the road 25 yards seated in a camp chair as well with his rifle and attention downhill. This was only about a few hundred yards from the HP junction and well before the deep bend.

And - oh even more! - truck campers pulled right up to the Clarkson miner cabins down in Slate creek having a robust outdoor fire.

Reports were made at the ranger station.

NOT Cool! Thanks for reporting…. With any luck they will be prosecuted.
