A Year Ago This Week

It was certainly much hotter a year ago. Last year, September 2nd and 3rd both hit record highs of 100 degrees F. The forecast is for much cooler temps today and tomorrow as well as a good chance of rain overnight and into tomorrow. We can sure use it.

Some predictions are calling for a "super" El Nino this year, perhaps the strongest ever recorded. A map created by Columbia University’s Center for Climate Systems Research takes into account this year’s El Niño and other climate factors to predict which locations will see more rain and which areas will see less rain than usual—from October to the end of the year. From what I can gather from looking at it, we can "expect" about normal precipitation.

And then, there's the Old Farmers Almanac which is predicting a "mild but snowy" winter for our area. Why not dream a little?
