ANyidea what this is? is it new?

Thick dark smoke is passing over Carlton now (12:36pm) and drifting up valley.

Smoke is from the Little Giant fire at top of Entiat Valley

Why did all the local fire trucks just go down valley with their sirens blaring?

The smoke was reported via a 911 call to the emergency dispatch center in Okanogan. That triggers an alarm or tone to FD6.

Friends said 2 fire trucks went up Twisp River around 12:30. Anything?

Also, WildCAD did list Black Pine, as a false alarm.

The smoke we are getting is from little giant fire

Little giant fire has spotted on the hillside at about 4,000 feet up from the lake & there are more than 1 spot fire- 1 spot fire is near safe harbor ( I think )

Can you clarify which side of the lake? Of course I can look up Safe Harbor. Says it's on the north side. And it says Safety Harbor.
Don't see the smoke now. Wind must have shifted. Will go to Caltopo.

The little giant fire has spotted in several place - wind was so bad that it carried hot ash across the lake to Manson - the northern shores of Manson is on fire right now - getting this information from watch duty.
