Local History Presentation this Friday & Saturday with the Shafer Museum!

Join your friends, neighbors and fellow history lovers this coming weekend for a video presentation that shares the history of Mazama, its early arrivals, and the community. Through engaging and fun stories you'll learn:

-How Mazama got its name
-What attracted settlers to the area
-How mining impacted the area
-Who the characters were
-And much more!

Twenty-nine settlers and seven mining people created this history, and some of their descendants still live in the Methow Valley today. Along with the video presentation, we'll have a book with even more Mazama history available for sale, maps and photo displays and time for questions. We hope you can join us! Free admission, donations welcome and appreciated.

You might have read Doug Devin's book, but there's a lot more the Shafer Museum's research team has uncovered. Come spend an entertaining hour learning about Mazama and the people who mined, homesteaded and started businesses in the area...and there are *definitely* some interesting characters!
