The commissioners did not meet on Monday.

• Commissioner Timm makes a statement to dispel a rumor about his being involved in a verbal altercation with a constituent. Later, Sarah Spence, the person who is offering to donate her land for an animal shelter in Omak, confirms Commissioner Timm’s story.
• Commissioners Hover and Neal will attend a meeting Tuesday evening in the Winthrop Barn. The DOT is expected to update county residents about the status of repairs on Hwy 20.
• Stan Myers, Interim Director of Public Defense, attended a recent conference and learned that his office may be able to receive money from the state for defense of simple possession charges. He also learned that all the other rural counties in Washington have budget problems similar to Okanogan’s.
• The commissioners work on language for a new call for bids for the Fairgrounds irrigation system.
• The commissioners discuss the pros and cons of the Department of Fish and Wildlife buying farmland and also pros and cons of farmers selling the development rights to their agricultural land.
• Meeting adjourned at 11:44.
