FREE: Learn Restoration Techniques From an Expert
Posted: Mon Mar 16, 2026 11:08 am
Chris Gustafson, a Historic Preservation & Restoration expert will be working at the Shafer Historical Museum March 28-April 3. Chris has helped us out before to care for our log cabins and he's back this time to focus on window restoration. Folks interested in learning from Chris can volunteer to help with the project. We'll kick things off on Sunday, 3/29 at 10am. You can coordinate directly with Chris after that if you wish to continue volunteering 3/30-4/3.
Chris is one-of-a-kind and you are sure to go home with information to tackle your own preservation and restoration projects. He has worked to restore an old fire lookout (https://youtu.be/GTs_IVEaZgY) and numerous historic buildings throughout Washington.
If you are interested in this unique volunteer opportunity, please contact Lindsay Morris at Docent@ShaferMuseum.org
We hope to see you there!
