Short term work opportunity in Alaska -
Looking for a caretaker/cleaner replacement pretty much in the ASAP timeframe through April at a lodge on the main avenue in Seward, AK. I've got to return to the Methow and Washington for some things and we are looking for an experienced & mature hand with property care, hospitality (self check-in but online/phone response through the software, guest care, friendly face in hallway), room cleaning, the all important trifecta of responsibility, accountability, and communication. It is an old building with an independently run coffeeshop operating at street level that is part of the building's maintenance keep-an-eye-on and a worker's hostel (currently 1 person). As with hospitality property care, there can be a 24/7 aspect of availability and requires a mind wired for problem-solving, self initiative, creating routine coupled to an enjoyment of finding flow in the quiet of an Alaska itty bitty town awakening out of winter sleep. You'll be supported with friendly, direct contact with myself and the owner for guest support. I'll train you to the cleaning protocols, hospitality interface (smart phone + tablet or computer) and the building's workings. Handyman skills a necessity (basic tools here). I've been improving and repairing most of the basic room infrastructure all winter in the preventative mindset...
Comes with: studio apartment in lodge with basic kitchen, claw foot tub/shower, TV/internet; fixed monthly DOE salary + $19/housekeeping for room flips; vehicle to use; incredible views of Mt. Marathon/Chugiak mountains and the Kenai Fjords National Park. Transportation to & fro is on you; likely pickup from ANC possible with grocery shop (recommended).
Please email: wildramble@gmail.com and send along CV/resume - relevant experience. We will check references after an initial chat.
*Position as summer manager is also open ~ different payscale (+/- 40hrs/week) and housing is in the worker's hostel with separate office space. Separate conversation on that.
