Danger Zone : Zonkey

We recently read an article that suggested that the zonkey in Twisp may be in peril from suspected wolf packs because one of his equine brothers had involuntarily joined the great circle of life. The zonkey has a small, but fervent and growing, fan club here in Japan. Can anyone provide an update on zonkey status and any measures being taken to safeguard the Treasure of the Valley?
