Dog Park?

Does anyone know how one would petition for a dog park? We live in a very dog friendly area, so it’s kind of surprising there isn’t even one in the valley. I personally think it would be great to have a dedicated enclosed space for dogs to run off leash safely and socialize with other dogs. It would also be really nice for dog owners that don’t have a fenced yard, as well as single dog owners that would like to socialize their pups more.
