Weekly Summary:
Monday, December 21, 2025 AM
• Dan Higbee, Building Department, tells the commissioners that its contract with several towns will expire at the end of the year. He asks if they’d like to increase the fee from $150 to $200 for an inspection or plan review. The new amount would help keep up with rising expenses incurred by the department. The commissioners agree to raise the fees in the new contracts.
• Laura Sorensen, Fair Advisory Committee, says the Fair would like to ban all weapons—toy or actual—carried by children at the Fair. Esther Milner, Chief Civil Deputy Prosecutor will look at the proposed language.
• Pete Palmer, Planning Director, describes a problem with addresses in Commissioner Hover’s district. Four houses on a long driveway are addressed A, B, C and D, but the people at A and D don’t agree which house is which. Palmer has named the road and provided numbers for the houses, but the residents want to keep the letter designations. Palmer says they can change the road name if they’d like, but they must keep the numbers she’s assigned. She says what prompted the change is an incident where fire fighters were called to a chimney fire on that road, and they first went to the wrong house.
• Meeting adjourned at 11:39.
