Looking for am extremely capable adventure vehicle or valley winter ride?
I have a 2004 Mitsubishi Montero that is ready for it's next phase. If you're not familiar with the Montero platform, they are internationally recognized for their capability and reliability. I've owned it for about 7 years and it's taken me on many adventures and has never let me down. I was planning on keeping it forever and making it a dedicated overland vehicle but a serious knee injury changes my plans. Clean title in hand.
Some key highlights:
-Excellent drive-train with shift of the fly RWD,AWD,4x4, and 4x4lo.
-Great traction control system, is a beast in the snow and mud
-High clearance with steel scrape plate in the front
-Upgraded wheels off a 2017 Tacoma TRD, tough E load Toyo Open Country AT2 tires
-Upgraded suspension all around, front has Dobinson coils with Bilstein Shocks, rear has OME spring and shocks
-Well maintained, lots of maintenance records and new parts
It runs well but is a 21 year vehicle with some know issues:
-Windshield is cracked
-Body is in good shape but has some dings and scratches, has never been in an accident
-Some minor surface rust in places, mostly near the removable running boards. Frame is solid.
-Interior is clean but not perfect
-Some of the control arm bushings are worn out, cheap fix if you're handy
-Spare tire is old
-Randomly throws an EVAP code after you fill up the gas tank, it's done this for years and hasn't performance. It's likely a seal or EVAP sensor.
-Temperature gauge on the cluster is intermittent. This is a common issue for Monteros and can be fixed by repairing the a broken saunter.
-Burns a little oil, usually about 1/2 a quart between 3000 mile oil changes
-Muffler/exhaust is original and getting old. I have a new muffler and cat I was planning to install that I'll include in the sale.
I do all my own maintenance and am very familiar with the vehicle, please ask if have any questions. I love this vehicle and would like to see it go to a new owner who is excited about keeping it alive for years to come.
