...Unless you're a couple hundred miles from the open ocean. Then it's all about wildfire smoke. The word "haze" seems like a euphemism to me. The sun has definitely turned a smoky orange throughout many areas of Washington—with air quality in the “unhealthy” or “very unhealthy” category.
According to National Weather Service meteorologists, a southeasterly flow is ventilating smoke produced from the wildfires in western WA, carrying it up and over the Cascade crest. And numerous Eastern WA fires are only adding to the problem. 100°temperatures certainly not helping.
We're looking forward to some relief this weekend. Maybe some rain! Hold the lightning please.
