Decided to take a scenic drive back from Omak but regretted choosing Forest Service Road 42 from Conconully to Loup Loup. Spent a white-knuckle hour or so on a section that is no way suitable for your normal driver like me even in my truck- let alone a passenger car. Did vandals knock down the “Abandon hope all ye that enter here” sign? Seriously I needed four wheel drive low and at times brush were scraping both sides of the vehicle. There is no way to turn around. Once the saddle is finally reached the road returns to normal gravel road with washboard at worst. Do I at least get a T-shirt?

I think my husband and I started down that road on our ebikes and a very small way down, I said, not doin' this. Was able to at least walk the bike back up. I thought it would be a gas to go to Conconully and have lunch that way.
