The Methow Valley Trails Collaborative (MVTC) is seeking volunteers to join us on some upcoming work parties! No experience necessary, just a desire to spend a day giving back outdoors.
Upcoming work parties:
Monday, May 19th (9:00 AM-12:30 PM) Klipchuck Campground Cleanup:
The day's goal is to clear duff and brush from tent pads and around fire rings and pick up any out-of-place trash campers may have inadvertently left before the upcoming holiday weekend. This work helps with camp fire safety early in the season, and provides a camping experience closer to the standard visitors have experienced in the past.
Thursday, May 22nd - Wednesday, May 28th (8:30 AM-3:00 PM) Twisp River Work Week:
Meet at Poplar Flats Campground at 8:30 to join MVTC staff and a crew of dedicated volunteers in maintaining trails in the Twisp River Drainage. Tasks include supporting qualified sawyers clearing logs from the trails, cutting back brush, and improving the tread surface as necessary. We'll work on different trails, but we meet at Poplar Flats each day. There will be work for all ability levels and skill types! Hiking distance is expected to be no greater than 6 miles round trip.
Saturdays, ongoing (9:00 AM-1:00 PM), Lewis Butte and Pipestone Trailhead Ambassador Program:
We are seeking friendly, informative, people to educate recreators on responsible recreation, share updates from land managers, and represent the WDFW’s mission at the Lewis Butte and Pipestone Canyon trailheads. MVTC staff will facilitate training for all volunteers and provide volunteers with all necessary information and materials.

Hope to see you on the trails!
