Curious what fence height local gardeners recommend here in the Methow.

7 ft up E. Chewuch works fine.

Depends on the motivation: I’ve seen a doe with a decent running start clear 8 ft to get to the heirloom tomatoes on a really successful year. If there’s nothing too exciting in there, 6 ft might be just fine.

I have 6’ fence. On flat ground it should be fine. I have gently sloped terrain. I have had break ins where the high side of the slope on the outside of the fence seems vulnerable. I have a dog now and they don’t jump in anymore. I will be upgrading soon, God willing, to 6’ fencing with 8’ post and a single wire across the top.

Another fencing idea which I have seen is to have a fence about 5' high, slanted slightly outward, and then put sticks that poke outward too. Seems like a hassle but have heard it works. Our fence is about 6' but has the advantage of a slope below the fencing. No way they can get in.
Turkeys on the other hand...

Reapwards’ share has many advocates who agree. My question to anyone who has tried this locally is, how well does this design work with the snow load/factor here. Snow has amazing strength and has pulled down parts of my fence in the recent past (vertical fence)

Got that right about the snow load. I suspect those sticks, unless they were metal and welded, would snap off. Stick to the vertical fencing, I say and yes mine sags and at times has to be repaired but it's not major.
