It would be nice if Mr. Newhouse would address his constituents face to face regarding the many challenges we now face. The Chairmen of the RNC is recommending that there no such contact with the voting public. We should remember his absence in November of 2026. Bruce Herron Wolf Creek

Agreed. Don't know of any other job in which, if the employer (in this case, the voting constituents) wished to ask relative and pertinent questions about job performance and work decisions, the employee could run and hide with their fingers in ears. But maybe I'm just an old fashioned conservative.

I know a great person to run against Newhouse! Jason Hoffman has given civics talks at the Winthrop Library. He would be wonderful in the House. Just needs the community to ask.....

Don't hold your breath waiting for Dan Newhouse to have a face to face townhall. He sends his staffers around to various locations in his district as cannon fodder, just so he can say that he is reaching out to his constituents. Given the seriousness of what is going on in the federal government these days, we deserve nothing less than being able to meet directly with our congressional representatives and to be able to ask questions and address concerns with them. But Dan Newhouse is pretty much in lock step with Speaker Johnson and the RNC who are telling the Republican Representatives not to meet directly with their constituents. So much for a representative democracy. People need to remember this when Rep. Newhouse comes up for re-election in 2026.
