I saw a small dog run across the street by the senior center today at 11am. It was mostly black with brown speckles. It seemed friendly. Initially it appeared to be walking with a woman but now I’m not actually sure she knew it was following her. It almost got hit by a car as it crossed the street towards the espresso stand. There were a lot of cars on the road and I was running late to an appointment. I’ve been thinking about it off and on all day. I wonder if it was the same dog and I hope it’s ok.

I saw possibly the same one on Tuesday afternoon - same behavior - running across 20 and then down the middle of Twisp River Rd. And similarly very worried about it getting struck. I don't think it had a collar. It's possible this is a homeless dog?

Someone posted a picture of the dog I saw on the Methow Valley Community Forum Facebook group. I think a few different people have tried to catch it. The poor thing is pretty frightened. Seems to have been running scared for days. Needs help. Hopefully someone is looking for it but no sign just yet.

Call or message Tom at Okandogs, they'll take in the dog and rehome it to a forever home family. No more ditchin the sweet dog and compounding emotional behavioral problems.

Hi all!

I've had a couple interactions with this dog and it has let me feed it a couple of cookies. I find myself driving around looking for it. I have experience with damaged dogs and I would love to get this one off the streets. If you see the stray poochie, please send me a text or call. I'm happy to be the point person for this lil dog.

Thanks.

I believe that we saw the same dog by the old Wagner Mill site by Balky Hill yesterday at 10:30, We did not see a collar. It was clearly upset. Looks like a sweet pup. We are in month five of re-homing an abused dog, she is doing much better, but has a ways to go when it comes to trust. It angers me to see dogs in this situation, In our house if you get a dog you keep it for their whole life. Bruce Herron Wolf Creek

I do have a hard time with people who blame a dog for "behavior problems." If you don't have time/space/ or have to tie up a dog, don't get a dog. If you are not ready for a 14 year commitment then don't get the dog. It is not the dog.

I just saw the little guy hightailing it North from Quality Lube towards town. He/she was booking big time. Whistled and I had Peanut so I thought it might come over. Nope. It did look over but never slowed. Dang that dog gets around. Tink, you must whisper in the tongue of Arf or Yap Yap for him to come to you. There were two cars stopped in the middle of the road by the big Twisp sign but I don't know if it was about the dog or not. It might have been a close call because the two women were pretty animated.
