In case you want to know or are concerned. The Town Planning commission is having another hearing to discuss the Family Haven project planned for the area behind Hanks, Ulrich Pharmacy and the Do It Center. The meeting will not be announced in the paper because of time constraints and is an extension of the January 15 hearing. Persons in attendance at the January 15 meeting requested the additional meeting time because of changes made to the original development plan. These changes include ingress and egress for the development which will now be at the intersection of the Twisp Carlton Road. The original plan also included two story buildings and 48 units. That has been changed to three story buildings and a total of 72 units. In addition, application priority cannot be given to Valley residents or those with a job in the Valley. Several concerned citizens also asked for city codes for fire conditions be reconsidered in light of our changing climate and that these stronger conditions be applied to the development being considered. During the meeting planned for the 29th of January, at 5 pm. the planning commission will determine conditions that might allow approval of the development, or they will decide not to approve the development.

Actually, much of this info is covered in the latest Methow Valley News 1/23 edition:

https://methowvalleynews.com/2025/01/23/public-raises-questions-about-low-income-housing-project-in-twisp/

Most of my concerns involve ingress and egress and I plan to be in attendance.

Hint: Don't just put up a date. Put your topic in the BB subject line and be willing to sign your name. Pretty basic.

Will the Planning Commission accept additional written comments based on the continuance?

Yeah, the paper we all got this week did a good job of covering the subject. The Town also posted a notice at the PO.
