Grooming nordic trails at Loup Loup

Post by osprey » Thu Dec 12, 2024 11:33 am

At my recent Seattle ski club meeting, a knowledgeable person spoke about the grooming for Nordic skiing at Loup Loup this season. Here is what he said.
Ski Bowl is the provider for the grooming at South Summit SnoPark. The Ski Bowl was awarded a second year of Priority 5 Budget funding from the State SnoPark program that totals around $70,000 or 20 hours of grooming a week. If conditions allow, grooming will be done on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturday evenings. Grooming will depend on the weather and snow conditions to preserve the budget for the whole season. The grooming reports will be posted on the Loup Loup Facebook page and Ski Bowl Website. You can also find maps and more information on the State Parks winter pages on the website.
If you haven't skied the South Summit trails you should! They are beautiful and uncrowded with excellent grooming. All you need is a standard SnoPark Permit. (NOTE: this info is regarding the South Summit SnoPark; there is also a North Summit SnoPark and it is designated for snowmobiles.)
