Community Grief Ceremony the weekend of Oct 9-11th

Post by ScottDavidson » Tue Sep 29, 2026 2:12 pm

Hi everyone.

I'm part of a Methow Valley group, the Kinship Circle, co-hosting a Community Grief Ceremony the weekend of October 9-11th in Twisp with some dear friends and skilled facilitators from Port Townsend, Marisa Withey Byrne and Alex Eisenberg. Here's the flier that we've posted around the valley and the website with details and registration. It's also buzzing around Instagram, fyi, if you'd like to share it with people.

Cultures throughout time have understood that grieving together is essential for healing in the face of individual and community loss or suffering. Many of us have learned, however, that we are supposed to endure our suffering alone, and perhaps feel awkward around how to deal with our own and others’ grief. We are grateful to be hosting skilled facilitators of a time-tested, deeply moving practice, both to support individuals navigating grief as well as growing our collective capacity to move through the inevitable hardships we will face and witness in the future.

Who do you imagine would really benefit from being held in their grief and loss? Please consider sharing this with them. It would be an honor to see you there too.

Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or want to talk about this.

Warmly,
~Scott Davidson with the Kinship Circle
