FYI - Fire District 6 saved our butts and more - AGAIN
at least three times following the lightening Wednesday afternoon - trees on fire were quickly put out in Carlton, Twisp and Sun Mountain. There are no adequate words to express the debt we owe to these well trained, hard working volunteers. I have no doubt their efforts this summer saved homes and potentially lives as well

Not sure if these words are adequate, but I'd also like to express our family's gratitude to the volunteers and staff of our Fire District. Those fires starts Wednesday could easily have expanded into something much larger and destructive.
There's a grim headline story on the Seattle Times today describing how devastating this year's fires have been across WA State and the toll it has taken on firefighters in this, the busiest fire season in history of the Northwest.
“Fire activity, acreage burned, and the demand for incident management resources have all reached exceptional levels, record-breaking levels,” Nelson-Dean said, “and we’re only halfway through.”
Please, let's be extra vigilant and careful throughout the remainder of this fire-prone season. We owe it to our neighbors and the firefighter's who put so much on the line.
