Walking Methow Waters ~ Saturday, June 20th

Walking Methow Waters
Learning to live with our river as a relative not a resource

Let’s walk together! Imagine visiting Water as a beloved teacher or a dear friend, listening and being present together. Imagine simply walking with an open heart and perhaps a question or a prayer. Not a political march. Not for recreation. Instead a walk for peace, an opportunity for connection, a prayer in action, with the waters that give our home life.

Our intentions:
- To walk a stretch of the river together
- To listen for guidance for how to be responsible humans in the world today, in reciprocity with life
- To take steps to restore our relations with waters, lands and peoples

What:
A ceremonial walk of up to 5 miles on a path with moderate ups and downs

Where:
Confluence of the Methow and Columbia Rivers at the Methow Monument & Memorial Park in Pateros: 113 Lakeshore Dr, Pateros, WA 98846

When:
Opening Ceremony at 6:00am on Saturday, June 20th, 2026
We will begin with an opening ceremony, then we will walk with the waters, pausing and listening along the way, returning by 10am in time for the eel release and salmon feast.
