Weekly summary:
Monday, May 25, 2026
The Commissioners did not meet on Monday.

Tuesday, May 26, 2026 AM
• Angie Morgan-Chilmonik makes a public comment after reviewing the bodycam footage of an incident involving Commissioner Timm and a county resident. The incident was first discussed in the May 12 BOCC meeting. She thinks that Commissioner Timm should have acted more professionally, but instead he tried to intimidate the other person. Commissioner Hover thinks that all county employees should act professionally when they perform their duties. Commissioner Timm says he doesn’t regret what happened.
• Mike Beaver, Juvenile Court Administrator, has the commissioners approve several resolutions to get the Health Care Authority’s Reentry Initiative fully staffed. The Reentry Initiative will be grant-funded for three years, but if it can’t become self-sustaining by the time the grants end, the county won’t be able to continue it.
• The commissioners discuss how they are not in favor of a data center in the county. Commissioner Neal doesn’t think a data center would want to move here. When he was mayor of Oroville, a data center considered building in the town’s industrial park but went to Grant County instead because power costs were much lower there.
• Larry Gilman, County Assessor, presents his quarterly update to the commissioners. Commissioner Hover asks how the levy lid lift would affect Ag-exempt property. Mr. Gilman explains the formula that reduces the assessed value of Ag-exempt land. Mr. Gilman also explains how low-income senior citizens can apply for a reduction in property taxes. Lastly, he mentions a Department of Revenue’s webpage comparing data from all the state’s counties.
• Cari Hall, County Auditor, Pam Johnson, Treasurer and Lisa Schreckengost, Finance Manager, summarize the 2025 Annual Report to the Washington State Auditor for the commissioners. She will submit the report later in the day.
• Meeting adjourned at 11:56
