Yes. Always shop locally when you can. But sometimes what I need just isn’t available nearby, and I have to order from a big box store.
I recently ordered a few things from Walmart to be “shipped,” and I was genuinely surprised when they showed up on my doorstep, not by FedEx, but by someone in a car. It turns out some items are available for same-day delivery. When you choose shipping, it now tells you whether it will arrive in a few days by FedEx or sooner through this newer in-person delivery option.
I also tried sending a delivery to a home near Pearrygin Lake, but they don’t service that area yet. And at least for now, they aren’t delivering perishables.
So yes, support local businesses whenever possible. But it’s good to know there’s another option for the things we simply can’t find locally.
