Figs?

Anyone have experience groing figs in the valley? Chicago Hardy has a subzero temp rating and god knows we get enough summer heat!

We have hardy figs, they are quite slow growing and require serious mulching in the winter but survived the winter that killed off lots of fruit trees throughout the valley a few years ago.

Do you know what variety?

We have a Chicago hardy that we keep outside that has survived the last 4 years but just barely. No fruits.
