Special needs dog iso new home...

Post by Chogirl97 » Mon Jan 12, 2026 3:19 pm

I'd like to start this post off by saying this was a very hard decision to make, and that I did not come to it lightly. But life changes are happening and I need to do what is best for him.

Wall-E is a very loving and cuddly, border collie mix.(According to the vet. He has border collie look to him but is definitely mixed with a bigger breed.) He's about 5-6 years old and neutered. Wall-E has epilepsy. He is currently on medication that keeps it under control most of the time. We've noticed that stress is the main trigger for his seizures. When he does have breakthrough seizures, which have decreased to one or two every couple of months, they usually happen in the middle of the night.

He is potty trained, knows a few basic commands and is overall a really good boy. He lives with cats and another dog who he gets along with just fine. The perfect day for him includes playing ball and cuddling on the couch with you. He would do best in a home that is fairly calm. Other than the epilepsy, he's healthy and happy. Even the days he has breakthroughs, he's back to being his playful loving self the same day.

We rescued him back in 2022 and never planned on rehoming him, but things have changed and there's a lot of stress that is definitely affecting him. He is established with a vet who is the one that diagnosed him and has gotten him to where he's relatively stable. His vet is also aware of the fact that we are looking at rehoming him, and is seeing what she can find as well but I wanted to get this out there so that maybe someone local could take him instead of him going to the coast.

Text is the best way to reach me as I'm usually at work.
