We are using USMobile for our service in Mazama. They offer service on all 3 networks, Verizon (they name Warp), ATT (they name Dark Star) and T-Mobile (the name Light Speed). The cost is amazing. If you like ATT service, then use Dark Star. They have a current special for porting in numbers to Dark Star. They also let you teleport to another network for free. Current promo is Unlimited on Dark Star for $195/yr which is $16.30/mo. Normally $32/mo. We’ve had the service for over a year and have been pleased.

Never heard of Dark Star - will Google it - the problem I have is att won't unlock my phone with them cuz I didn't buy my phone from them so it doesn't register in there system so basically att owns my phone even though I purchased it thru a retail store - thaks for the info Teresa

Seems odd that it's locked by ATT but you didn't buy it from them. Did you get some kind of a phone usage contract where they might have done it?
There is also something called a Wireless Account Lock. It's a protection against many scams. You choose whether your phone is locked. If you have the AT&T app, you should be able turn this feature on and off.
I can't give you more info because I don't have this. But you can search for Wireless Account Lock on the internet for more info

I just took a look at the Dark Star website. Good luck understanding it. Is Warp really the same as Verizon? They don't tell you. Roaming in 180 countries? That means no extra charge or ??? Guess it depends on what plan you choose among the meaningless different names.
Beware the "first year" prices vs subsequent years. At least it's clear that your price doubles after the first year.
For now, I'm sticking with Tracfone over Verizon towers. Works pretty well in Mazama area.
