Traditional and Tropical
Traditional is packed with the usual red/green candied cherries, citron
orange peel and tutti fruitti. Soaked in brandy
Tropical was developed when I shared my recipe on the King Arthurs
Baking Circle. A gal from the Virgin Islands did it tropical style since
it was too expensive to buy traditional ingredients. Papaya, mango, pineapple
and candied ginger. Soaked in rum.
good news/bad news
This is the last year I will make them because of the cost.
Good news? I cant charge what they cost plus
profit. 295 dollars to make one batch each. Rule of thumb is to double
that. So lucky you price will be 30 per cake. The biggest shock came when I bought the booze.
Liter tax??? Really? I pay for the empty bottle?
