Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has stated that DEI initiatives undermine military cohesion and operational effectiveness. President Trump’s executive order mandates the removal of DEI-related content from all military branches. To that end, thousands of images are being deleted from various databases.
Some of the results so far:
Removal of images and data about service members because their last name is, or contains, the word “gay”,
Removal of content about the Boeing B-29 aircraft that dropped the first atomic bomb in combat during World War II because it was named Enola “Gay” (It was named after the pilot’s mother, Enola Gay Tibbets)
A photo of Army Corps biologists, seemingly because it mentioned they were recording data about fish—including their weight, size, hatchery and “gender”.
