Skylstad Family Haven Open House

Post by cceasternwa » Thu Jan 30, 2025 3:12 pm

Hello, my colleagues and I at Catholic Charities of Eastern Washington are so grateful for the thoughtful engagement at the Planning Commission meeting on January 29th. Our team is committed to being engaged with the community of the Methow Valley as we work hard to deliver the best housing project we can for the valley.

As a part of that commitment, I would like to invite you to an open house to learn more about the project, its timeline, how we lease out units, how we manage our properties, our service delivery model, and much more. The open house will be at the Twisp Works large meeting room on February 6th, from 4:00 - 6:00 pm.

Whether you support, oppose, or are just curious and don't know what to think, our team would love to provide information to you about our project and our organization. I hope to see you there.

Thanks,
Alex Reynolds

I was under the impression that the project in Twisp would be named for the town, that is, Twisp Family Haven. Is that not the case?

Well, I think I just answered my own question . . .

See William S. Skylstad on Wikipedia.

CCEW purchased an apartment building in Spokane with elderly, disabled and low income residents . Then raised the rents and started evictions. The valley doesn't need landlords like that. The Methow Housing Trust just won a million dollar grant for distributed housing. I personally prefer that model as it has proved effective in our community. One other question how does evictions of less fortunate people fit into the Gospel of Jesus? Bruce Herron Wolf Creek
