Stalking and Harassment Prevention – A Rural Community Approach
Supporting Local Businesses in Enhancing Safety
Thursday, January 23, at 6:30pm in the Community Room of the Winthrop Public Library
Led by Raven Buckingham Aae & Winthrop Marshal Ty Sheehan
Okanogan County can move from failing to serve justice for its most vulnerable residents to a center of rural excellence – with businesses leading the way. This training is for business owners and employees to empower intervention and protect against liability.
By way of a citizen, law enforcement, and mayoral partnership, Winthrop passed comprehensive stalking prevention legislation and deemed January as “Stalking Awareness Month” – officially recognizing stalking as a public health epidemic and following the lead of bipartisan legislation passed unanimously by the Washington State Legislature.
This free 90 minute workshop will educate and inform the community so that we can lead the way for positive change. This workshop is open to business owners, staff, and civic leaders from across Washington State.
