I would shock chlorinated my well and house system. If it is a function of the time between the drilling of the well and its use, this might correct it. I rented an aluminum car trailer in Twisp, and took cars to Shull's towing in brewster.
They take them for free, but the trailer rental costs about $55. Towing vehicle and towed vehicle need to be checked on U-Haul website. I actually towed two cars on one day, for that price.

What vehicle did the rims come off of?

Winthrop should have as-built drawings and there should be locate wire on the main lines. They used to have a Schonstedt GA-52 Magnetic Locator that should be able to locate the valve boxes at over that depth. If thier locator is gone or inoperable, Twisp used to have one also.
