Re: Country Town Drilling?

Rudolpho @ Twisp Well Pump LLC ( 509-429-6548) might have the information you're looking for. Country Town Drilling is no longer in business—at least locally.

Robert Redford—Rest In Peace

Robert Redford passed away last night at the age of 89. He starred in dozens of memorable cinematic roles—a number of them connected to the West. Somebody said it was the reason flags are flying at half mast. I'm not sure.

Re: Gold Creek Loop/Stokes rd bridge traffic light

Excellent proactive contacts. Thank you! I realize we're still very much involved with fire season and the possibility of a reasonably quick repair is good news. My concern is more long term. Is that bridge structurally sound beyond the failing railings? Constructed many decades ago, the current tra...

Re: Gold Creek Loop/Stokes rd bridge traffic light

Our trusty Methow Valley News mentioned this in their latest edition~ Expect delays on Highway 153, where a bridge 3.5 miles south of Carlton has been reduced to one lane due to safety concerns, according to a Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) news release. A crew installed jerse...

Re: Extreme Heat Watch 8/23-8/26

The National Weather Service has now shifted this to an Extreme Heat WARNING from noon August 21 to 9:00 PM August 27. The high temperatures I'm seeing forecast for Twisp are even higher than those in the original post. Do not underestimate these conditions. It's the limited overnight relief that ma...

Re: WA Rural Health Care At Risk

The Three River Hospital Levy request looks as though it passed handily—73.46% approved to 26.54% rejected, following the second round of counting with only a handful of ballots left to count. Voter turnout was decent for this "off season" election. If you want to see your precinct results, they're ...
